Princess Pain

Literature Text
Small and brown, thin, like paper bags
That I carried my lunch in,
That was the feeling of her skin
Huddled in my arms
As she wished her life away.
Eyes dark with troubles too heavy for her age, terrifying
Unforgettable description of perfect pain
Blinking to hide her soul for a second
As it spills from her in deep black rivers of liquid love
I bathe myself in her dirty waters.
Trembling leaves don’t compare, she shakes beneath me.
I ask about the bruises but she will not share.
My shirt clings, wet with her tears
And I bend over backwards to make her smile.
Shameless lust folds over onto her.
My Princess has been captured, is lost, her demons laugh
Stab her with razorblades while helpless I watch.
She sits alone beneath protective trees, like a fairy in the grass
Scraping words with her fingernails over her wrists
And she shoves me backwards when I reach for her hand.
Clinging to her stick bug form, desperately I watch
As a knight swoops in with golden locks
And as her tears dry in the light of her savoir,
Mine turn red and the demons descend
I mean nothing without her.
Sweet mouse turned snake, contemptuous and spitting
Wrapped in her constriction, I feel all my bones break.
The smile I fought for is twisted and cruel,
Deep eyes disappeared, all I see is a back
Walking away and holding hands with the worthy one.
So cry me a river and spit me a poem.
A broken heart with nowhere to put it.
I traded my soul for tears, metal, and blood.
That’s all I have left of my Princess,
Scars of what was.
i love the lines
I traded my soul for tears, metal, and blood.
That’s all I have left of my Princess,
Scars of what was."
